Located east of Naxos, Donoussa is a small and hard to reach island with beautiful beaches, a picturesque port and a well kept traditional local life. Known only to the few who can appreciate such beauty, the island retains its authenticity intact.
It belongs to the Small Cyclades group of islands. It has less than 170 residents and its tourist infrastructure is basic, but more than adequate to satisfy the traveler who seeks to discover the true island feel. Donoussa is mostly rocky, with several sandy beaches.
Donoussa lays at a distance of 20 nautical miles from Naxos. Access can be achieved by small ferry from Naxos, or by ferry from Piraeus on a less regular basis. During the peak season, small boats depart from the small port of Moutsouna in Naxos to get to Donoussa, which is just a few miles away.
