Being located centrally in Cyclades islands cluster, Naxos provides easy and fast access to most other Cycladic islands. Furthermore, being the largest island in Cyclades offers great opportunities for inland excursions.
Small boats depart from the port of Naxos on a daily trip to Delos, Mykonos and Santorini. These are organized and guided tours that offer a meal on board. However, many visitors choose to do some island hopping on their own. Paros, Antiparos, Schinoussa, Heraklia, Donoussa and Amorgos islands are within a close reach from Naxos.
As for inland tours, these can be done individually, by local transportation or by guided tours from Naxos Town. It is mainly due to the island's size it is easier to explore its inland by own means (car mostly), but local transportation is also a very common method tourists select to visit most villages, even the most remote ones.
