The beach of Mikri Vigla is considered by the majority of travelers as a region of particular natural beauty. It is situated in the SW part of the island at a distance of about 16 klm from its capital. Its most characteristic features are the amazing quality white sand and the clarity of the sea water which creates innumerable colors of blue and azure.
Mikri Vigla is a masterpiece of nature. It is a small headland that penetrates the sea and is found between the beaches of Parthena towards the north, which is ideal for windsurfing and swimming and Sahara towards the south, a 4 kilometer beach of white sand, a magnet for the lovers of the sea.
There are quite a few accommodation units in the area, some of which are within a few steps from the beach, and several taverns with excellent local cuisine. Access to the beach is made via asphalt road, except for the last kilometre where there is earth road of good condition, easily accessible by car or motorbike/scooter.
Nearby beaches are Kastraki (southwards) and Orkos (towards the north).
