The countryside of Naxos varies a lot depending on the season. One thing is for sure, the high mountains and the valleys will amaze you. Although the coastline of the island has the typical "cycladic" look, its interior is much different as Naxos is rich in vegetation whereas other cycladic islands are not. The fertile soil of the island is the main reason for the high rate of productivity. One will come across many olive and orange trees and vineyards scattered all over the island.
